The inaugural general meeting of the REAAA New Zealand Chapter Inc. was held on Wednesday, September 4, 1996, followed by a dinner to celebrate the occasion. This day marked the official launch of the New Zealand Chapter.The New Zealand Chapter of the REAAA has been established to:

  • Bring together the roading interests in New Zealand
  • Raise New Zealand’s international profile especially in Asian and Australian roading areas.
  • Give New Zealand representation at REAAA Council Meetings and an opportunity to influence policy programmes.

The New Zealand Chapter aims to promote the Association’s objectives in New Zealand, particularly in the areas of road design, construction, public and traffic safety, management, maintenance and related field, through seminars, meetings with outside speakers, newsletters (Association and Chapter) and other exchanges of information.

Membership of New Zealand Chapter includes representatives from local government, consultants, contractors, universities and NZ Transport Agency. With such a broad representation from the roading industry, the stage is set for a wide range of activities that can be of benefit for all concerned.

 An elected Committee coordinates the activities of the Chapter.
