Senior Pavement & Materials Engineer, Federal Highway Administration (FHWA)

Andrew Mergenmeier is a Senior Pavement and Materials Engineer with the FHWA’s Resource Center.  His primary responsibilities include materials acceptance and pavement design and construction.  Andrew is the Vice-Chair of the AASHTO Subcommittee on Materials Technical Section 5a which is the Technical Section responsible for management of pavement measurement standards including the pavement profiling, friction, rutting and cracking measurement standards.  He is the Field Project Engineer for the FHWA Friction        Management Program that includes demonstrating new friction assessment tools within the framework of a friction management program.  He is managing the pooled fund study, TPF-5(299) Improving the Quality of Pavement Surface Distress and Transverse Profile Data Collection and Analysis.

Andrew Mergenmeier is a keynote speaker at SaferRoads 2017 - 5th International Conference being held in Auckland from 21st to 24th May 2017.  Andrew is then heading to the south island to take in the highlights of Otago and will be delivering his SaferRoads 2017 presentation at a breakfast forum in Queenstown.
