The 2017 Roadshow theme was “Engineering for Disaster – When, not if” and the presentations were well received at the five venues.

The seminars commenced in Auckland on 16 August and finished in Dunedin on 22 August.

This year the $300 cash prize for the winners of the Young Presenter Competition was kindly sponsored by the local IPENZ branches at Waikato, Wellington and Canterbury.

The winners were:
Ayesha Carneiro, Beca Ltd ~ Auckland seminar
Natasha Jokhan, Opus International Consultants ~ Rotorua seminar
Thanura Rabel, Opus International Consulants ~ Wellington seminar
Daniel Helm, Downer ~ Christchurch seminar
Lydia Perkins, Fulton Hogan – Dunedin seminar

The presentation from international speaker, Herby Lissade, CALTRANS “Resilience in Transportation Systems – designed in and sometimes bolted on” was a highlight with one attendee noting the roadshow’s “relevance to current times was a key aspect in this conference”.

It is commonly noted that the roadshow enables great networking opportunities and brings clients, contractors and consultants together under the one roof.  This makes a great forum for the exchange of information and innovative ideas.

Presentations from the 2017 roadshow and past roadshows are loaded on the Conference Papers page
