The REAAA committee are trialling a biannual REAAA Roadshow with the next roadshow being held in 2020.  For 2019 the REAAA are hosting the Low Volume Roads Workshop in Invercargill from Wednesday 9th – Friday 11th October 2019.  Further details and registration for the LVR Workshop 2019

The 2018 Roadshow theme was “The Transportation Transformation” and the presentations were well received at the five venues.

The seminars commenced in Auckland on 15 August and finished in Dunedin on 21 August.

This year the $300 cash prize for the winners of the Young Presenter Competition was kindly sponsored by the local Engineering NZ branches at Waikato and Canterbury.

The winners were:
Nikhil Vishwanath, Road Science ~ Auckland seminar
Ann-Elise Reynolds, Whakatane District Council ~ Rotorua seminar
Zane Davidson, WSP Opus ~ Wellington seminar
Andrew Bradfield, WSP Opus ~ Christchurch seminar
The presentation from international speaker, Koorosh Olyai “From Integrated Corridor Management (ICM) to Integrated Journey Management (IJM) and Successful Connected Automated Vehicles (CAV)” was a highlight with one attendee noting the roadshow was “very relevant and targeted to the future – most enjoyable and informative”.

It is commonly noted that the roadshow enables great networking opportunities and brings clients, contractors and consultants together under the one roof.  This makes a great forum for the exchange of information and innovative ideas.
